PEDIGREE: In our first issue of the new academic year the honor of being the first Pioneer Focus athlete of the week goes to senior setter Jackie Schwamberger for her leadership and remarkable play over the last three years for Pioneer volleyball.
Over the last three seasons Schwamberger has certainly left a mark on the Pioneers program as she has racked up a total of 1, 439 assists, putting her in third place on the all-time list. Also, as the “quarterback” of the offense, she has led Pioneer volleyball to arguably its most prestigious period in program history.
During her career Schwamberger has helped volleyball produce a remarkable 93-35 record, which included leading the team in 2010 to the first ever American Mideast Conference tournament title and the first berth in the NAIA National tournament as well.
Of course, over the years, she has accumulated many awards for her performance on and off the court as well. Her list of achievements dating back to 2009 reads like this:
2009- All-AMC Freshman Team
2010- All-AMC 1st Team, NCCAA East Region Team Honorable Mention
*2011- NCCAA All-American 2nd Team, NCCAA All-American Scholar Athletes, NCCAA East Region 1st Team
*Ineligible to receive any AMC awards because of the university’s move to NCAA Division II.
