Senate Notebook: October 16

Student Concerns

One issue that is being looked into concerns the quality of the campus Coke machines. Some machines do not give the right drink or any drink at all. (Photo by Kaitie Fox)

Co-director of Student Activities Andrew Rearick brought up the high cost of using Malone vans for transportation to athletic games and other events. Rearick will be drafting a letter to present at a future meeting.

Another issue brought up was the quality of the Coke machines on campus. Several of the machines either produce the wrong drink or don’t give anything at all. Sophomore class President Mike Terry is looking into the problem.

Several students are concerned about the recent thefts from cars on campus. All students are encouraged to keep their cars locked and take extra caution with their keys.

Other Business

Director of Communications Michelle Wagner presented a letter addressing the issue of staff parking spaces at the Johnson Center. The letter was reviewed and approved by all members of Senate.

Sophomore class Vice-President Jake Belair is planning a campus cleanup for October 26th in anticipation for Homecoming events.

Student Senate meetings are held Wednesday nights at 9:00 p.m. in the Brehme Conference Room.
