Tom Shaub, junior Bible and theology major accepted the position of co-spiritual life director after the January 30th re-vote for the position. Avery Linn is the other spiritual life director. The position of spiritual life director is to serve and cultivate student faith.
The presidential debate is set to take place on February 28th. This year there are two candidates. Last year and the previous year president Bob Book answered questions posed by senate and students and the vote was either “approve” or “do not approve” since he was the only candidate. The debates are open to the public.
In an email read by Book from Chris Abrams, vice president of student development, Abrams said that in the fall there were 200 empty dormitory rooms on campus, this spring there are 250 empty rooms. Because of this administration announced the week of February 4th that Barclay, the men’s dorm, would be closing due to low enrollment.
This discussion centered around the cross country students who traditionally live in Barclay together. Senate agreed to contact Josh Perkins about the possibility of allowing requested students to live together next semester despite their move.
Student Senate meetings are held Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the Brehme Conference Center.
