Pioneer Focus: Sydnee Penn

PEDIGREE: This week’s Pioneer Focus goes to women’s basketball’s  junior guard Sydnee Penn for her performance in a victory and a defeat this past week.

Over the week, Penn was the leading force for the Pioneers as she averaged 16.5 points per game in 31 minutes of play. On Valentine’s Day she powered the Pioneers to a 55-44 GLIAC victory over Tiffin by leading a second half comeback with 16 points and 10 boards.

She was able to follow that impressive performance two days later by again leading the Pioneers in scoring as she poured in 17 points on 6-14 shooting from the field. Unfortunately, she was not able to lead her team to victory as the Pioneers fell just short, losing 61-59 against Ohio Dominican.

Overall Penn has averaged 9.3 points per game this season as she has helped the much improved women’s team to a 13-10 record (9-10 GLIAC).
