Along with her success at the All-Ohio Championship, Polatas recently snatched an 8th place finish among another large field of 200 runners in the Disney Classic Saturday, October 12. Polatas helped lead her team to a first place finish among a 25 team field.
Polatas has been an asset to the women’s cross country team this season and has finished within the top 11 individual places in all her races.

Q: Favorite fall activity?
A: Going to a haunted house with my friends and carving pumpkins with my boyfriend.
Q: Favorite Halloween costume?
A: Being a blow-up size sumo wrestler in 6th grade with Jaclyn Anderson.
Q: An athlete you admire?
A: My brother, he reminds me of myself and I really admire his dedication and hard work that he puts in as a runner. He’s also just a great person in all aspects and I have really learned a lot from him.
Q: If you could have one song be the theme to your life, what would it be?
Q: If you could be one Disney Princess who would you be?
Q: Favorite aspect of cross country?
A: Running with my team, all my accomplishments so far would not have been possible without them, they make it easier to push through the pain and have so much faith in my abilities.

Q: Best and worst parts of being a student athlete?
A: The best part is my teammates that have become like family to me. The worst part is finding time in the day to get everything done.
Q: Destination you would love to visit?
Q: If you could race any place in the world, where would it be?
A: There are quite a few places I would like to run in the world. At some point I’d like to complete a marathon in every state and an international one or two would be a lot of fun.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Working as a physical therapist hopefully starting to settle down somewhere and start a family.
Q: If you were a running shoe, which one would you be?
A: Newton Distance, it’s the shoe I run in most of the time and I can relate to Newton as a brand because they use different technology than any other brand and I really like their dedication to benefiting the running community as a whole.
