Nickname: Sarah-Noel is what I sometimes go by when I am in an environment with too many Sarahs!

Major: Communications, Public Relations with Spanish minor

High school: Firestone High School

Q: What is your favorite kid’s movie?

A: In recent years I have become a big fan of Tangled, but I also love watching Finding Nemo en español.

Q: What is your favorite quote/verse?

A: It’s so hard to pick a favorite verse, but Isaiah 30:15, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength,” has spoken to me a lot lately, especially in connection to our season.

Q: If you could be one fictional character, who would you be and why?

A: Maybe Jasmine from Aladdin, she has a pet tiger AND gets to ride on a flying carpet!

Q: Cookie dough or cookies and cream?

A: Cookie dough! It tastes so much better before it’s baked!

Q: Twitter or Instagram?

A: I’ll have to say Twitter, but I am a newbie to the site!

Q: Chocolate or vanilla?

A: When I was younger I hated chocolate, but that certainly has changed! Most of the time it is chocolate all the way!

Q: Favorite aspect of cross country?

A: This is my first year at Malone and I absolutely love it!  TEAM is my favorite part of cross country.  What we have at Malone is so special that I am sure not all cross country programs have.  It’s so great to have such incredible teammates and it really illustrates to me the way in which the body of Christ works together, many members not focused on their own success, but what they can accomplish as a whole.

Q: Favorite food at Thanksgiving?

A: Call me crazy, but I love vegetables so I might have to say green beans. But sweet potatoes are a close second!

Q: A color that describes you? Why?

A: It has to be blue.  99% of my closest is this color and just about 87% of my room is the same!

Q: Someone who has inspired you? Why?

A: My teammate, Katie King, has been a big inspiration to me this season as a teammate and sister in Christ. I am inspired by her love for the Lord and the way she lives this out by loving the people around her, including her MCC sisters. She has her eyes set on eternity and this has been an integral aspect for me to hold onto this past season.

Q: Something you have learned from Pioneer Athletics?

A: This season we are blessed to have some amazing leaders leading our team as well as incredible coaches. I have learned so much from them and would not be growing in my knowledge as a runner or connecting it to my faith like I currently am without them.

Q: If you could switch your life with one person for a day, who would it be and why?

A: Katie Davis, a girl in her early twenties who left America right out of high school to serve the Lord in Africa. Reading a book about her life was so inspiring to see the humility, selflessness, and honesty she reflects in her day to day life. It would be an amazing experience to live out a day in her shoes and see the endurance and faith it takes!

Q: Something you would like to achieve before you graduate?

A: Being a goal-oriented person, I feel silly not having anything concrete to say, but I definitely want to continue to strive to grow as a child of God and as a teammate to be able to encourage and influence future runners the way I have been this past year.

Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

A: If I am in America, working for a Christian ministry would be my dream job, even better if it’s in a big city like NYC!  If I am not in America, I would love to be on the mission field in just about any country the Lord would lead me to!
