Pedigree: This week’s Pioneer Focus goes to senior golfer Garrison Myles. Myles is a senior from Centerburg, Ohio and was elected due to his previous accomplishments. He led Malone to a second-place finish amongst 14 teams in the GLIAC north invitation hosted by Grand Valley State University. Myles earned individual honors as well, tallying a two-day total of 173, with rounds of 71 and 72 to arise victorious out of an 85-man field.

Q: What high school did you attend?

A: Centerburg High School
Q: Who got you interested in golf?
A: My dad. He put a club in my hand when I was two years old and I fell in love with it ever since.
Q: Who is your favorite golfer?
A: Tiger Woods
Q: If you could play any other sport, what would it be and why?
A: Probably basketball. I grew up playing basketball and golf my entire life.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: Anything Italian
Q: What was your favorite Halloween costume ever?
A: A ninja
Q: Who will you be for Halloween this year?
A: Haven’t even thought about it yet.
Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
A: I love photography.
Q: What’s your major ?
A: I major in Business Marketing with a minor in Graphic Design.
Q: What are you hoping to do with that in the future?
A: I want to travel out west and go into corporate branding
Q: Will you want to go pro in golf?
A: I think I’m going to take the first year out of school and go down south and see what happens and chase the tours.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A: I don’t want to see myself in five years (jokingly). In five years I see myself trying to become established in a company definitely out west. See where my talents take me.
