The Pioneer cross country teams opened their 2015 season with a bang Thursday evening at University of Akron’s Tommy Evans Invitational.
The women finished second, just one point behind Kent State. Sophomore Hannah Campbell finished second overall, crossing the line three seconds behind the winner. Fourth place was awarded to senior Sarah Meek as the team’s second finisher.
The men found themselves in third behind Akron and Youngstown State. The team was lead by senior Ryan Roush and sophomore Nate Boyer with fifth and seventh place respectively.
Pioneer runners will return to action on September 18 to compete in Michigan State’s Spartan Invitational.
