Senate Notebook: Oct. 7 and 14, 2015

Senate Notebook is a regular news feature with the goal to keep students up to date on Student Senate. Senate meets every Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the Brehme Conference Center. Intentional prayer begins each week at 8:30 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend both activities.

  • The library currently closes for community worship, but Senate is considering the possibility of keeping the library, as well as the bookstore and wellness center, open during that time. With the changes made regarding spiritual formation opportunities, students have more opportunities for SFO credits other than community worship. Senate and the Office of Spiritual Formation are considering the change.
  • Extending visitation hours was discussed. The issue has previously been rejected due to lack of research. Senate will investigate the matter further.
  • Chris Wisbey shared his concerns about the bowls stolen from the ice cream station. Possible solutions to the issue were discussed.
  • Senate is looking to have additional trashcans placed at the end of the stairs to the Centennial Center and in front of Myers Lounge.
  • The gym is open to students from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. each Sunday.
