Enactus is a global organization where students practice what they are learning in class for local or global companies. The group does fundraising, event planning, grant writing and other entrepreneurial actions. In the past the Malone chapter has helped with the Ugly Christmas Sweater Jamboree, Hobnob Chocolate Fountain Event and local businesses like Pettiti’s garden.
The group has applied for and received 14 grants, three of which were this year alone. Other project students are currently working on include Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), Hobnob Chocolate Fountain Networking Event, the Walmart and Unilever grants and One Life, One Mission coffee.
Enactus not only allows students to practice what they are learning in their courses, but also teaches them project management and teamwork skills.
Enactus meets Thursdays at 10:30 in Mitchell 207. Beth Postlewaite, instructor of business, is the advisor. Josh Harley, junior accounting, business and finance major, and Miguel Rodriguez, senior business administration major, are co-presidents.
Harley said, “It’s a great organization no matter what your major is because it gives you the opportunity to connect with outside companies that will prepare you for the future.”
If you have questions or want more information contact Postlewaite at email@example.com.
