The Malone University Chess Club is a student led organization which focuses on friendship and fellowship through the game of chess. No official membership is required to join, and everyone is encouraged to come regardless of their skill level. Members are even willing to teach those who have never learned to play. The club’s more frequent players are made up of students representing diverse majors who come to enjoy free food and the company of other players. More recently, the club has begun to grow significantly into more of a community outreach by connecting with other local clubs and participating in local tournaments.

No commitment is required to be a member, and players may come and go as their schedule permits. The club meets Wednesday nights at 6:00 in CC 104 and supplies free pizza and pop to all players.  If you have any questions contact Charley Garwood, president and junior communication arts major, at cwgarwood1@malone.edu or Alex Yu, adviser and senior systems engineer, at ayu@malone.edu.
